Blue Matter Consulting, LLC., seeks Principal (New York, NY) Duties: Project LeadershipServes as an active primary lead to deliver projects successfully and profitably through the following tasks:•Identifies required project composition and staffs appropriate project team•Sets objectives for team in terms of scope, direction, style and story of Deliverables•Conducts final review of deliverables to ensure they meet Blue Matter quality•Leads internal and client-facing project planning, approach and scoping discussions, demonstrating strategic partnership mindset to strengthen client relationships•Leads key client meetings and workshops, showcasing personal and company expertise and strategic thought partnership•Conducts meetings / communicates with other members of firm leadership to collaborate as needed to deliver projects successfully and profitably•Oversees project operations including project management plan, team capacity considerations, project hygiene and Knowledge Management processes•Ideates and builds out new creative, innovative ideas on project type / approach / execution to increase business impactSustainable Business GrowthSell and lead an average of $2M in client engagements annually within a book of business of mostly self-sourced accounts through the following tasks:•Collaborate with other firm leaders to drive business development effortsoParticipate in annual regional account-planning processoIdeate with other firm leaders to outline, capture and internally plan for expected upcoming business opportunities at assigned accountsoContribute targeted expertise in areas of focus (Rare Disease, Oncology, Early Commercialization, Brand Strategy, Medical Affairs, Cell/Gene Therapy and Gene Editing) to support business needs at own and other accountsoServe as Account Captain (coordinating engagements firmwide for the account) and drive account planning for select accounts Aware of firm capabilities and helps identify and refer opportunities•Develop and deliver proposals for new projects, accurately representing Blue Matter capabilities and expertise•Establish and maintain relationships with Executive Level clients, communicating regularly on industry trends and potential client needs•Support internal planning for forecasted Business Growth, including projection of capacity and skillset within regional office, and ideation of solutions for gap-fillPeople Leadership•Meet with team members and assigned Mentees/Coachees to discuss and provide guidance towards meeting professional development goals•Proactively identifies performance issues and works with other leadership to rapidly address•Participate in and/or design and lead trainings for Consultants and Managers in areas of target expertise or personal advanced skill•Trains team to ensure appropriate leverage of internal Blue Matter resources and existing in-house expertiseFirm Development•Meets with members of other regions and business units to identify and operationalize opportunities for collaboration across regions and business units•Writes Thought Leadership pieces for publication on Blue Matter channels, highlighting expertise, new ideas and project successes•Attends industry congresses to represent Blue Matter, source Business opportunities and grow knowledge around industry challenges and trends•Identify and communicate potential challenges and concerns regarding firm operations with regional leadership•Ideate and support implementation of new BM-wide initiatives or improvements in standard processes as necessaryRequired: Ph.D. in Pharmacology or related life sciences degree plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or related management consulting position within the biopharmaceutical industry.Must have:•2 years of marketing experience within the biopharmaceutical industry.•2 years of experience in new product commercialization, product launch, product strategy, and organizational strategy•2 years of experience working within therapeutic areas of Oncology, Immunology and Rare Diseases.•2 years of experience working with next generation therapeutics in the focus areas of Genetics, Gene Editing, Cell Therapies, and Cancer Biology.Weekend and/or overtime required to meet project deadlines. Hybrid model position, working 2 days in office and 3 days within normal commuting distance of office location. National and international travel required 5% of the time. Compensation: Base salary range: $238,243 - $275,000 per year. Generous incentive compensation structure.
