JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and family support services by supporting parents and managing day to day operations of a Head Start Center licensed by New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
Characteristics of an Effective Center Manager/Family Partner: The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have experience recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and managing staff performance. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are a must. Successful candidate will have good interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, time management and organizational skills. Experience managing a childcare center is preferred. They must be committed to making a difference in the lives of children, families, and the communities in which we live/serve.
Qualifications: EDUCATION: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with relevant coursework preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One year of experience teaching in an early childhood education program; and one year of supervisory experience supervising staff in an early childhood education program preferred.
Combination of education, Child Development Associate credential, Family Development Credential, and experience considered.
*Within 18 months of hire, employee must possess, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field.
