Enterprise Charter School (ECS) Overview:

Enterprise Charter School is seeking an Assistant School Leader (ASL)The Assistant School Leader supports the principal in the administration and management of the school, fostering a positive learning environment and promoting academic excellence. This role involves collaborating with teachers, staff, students, and parents to enhance educational outcomes and ensure the smooth operation of the school.

SCHOOL-WIDE COMPETENCIES:

  • Serves as an advocate for racial equity with the school's colleagues, parents, students, community, and external stakeholders to promote equity in education and closure of the achievement gap

  • Demonstrates a racial equity mindset through awareness of biases and leads with a racial equity lens

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS-responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Leadership and Administration:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of school policies and procedures.

  • Support the principal in daily school operations and decision-making.

  • Lead school-wide initiatives and programs to enhance student achievement.

Instructional Support:

  • Collaborate with teachers to improve instructional practices and curriculum development.

  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to staff.

  • Assist in the analysis of student performance data to inform instructional strategies.

Student Support:

  • Promote a positive school culture that encourages student engagement and well-being.

  • Address student behavioral issues and implement appropriate interventions.

  • Support the development and implementation of programs for diverse learners.

Staff Development:

  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment among staff members.

Community Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community stakeholders.

  • Represent the school at meetings, events, and community functions.

  • Encourage parental involvement in school activities and initiatives.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety protocols and emergency plans.

  • Monitor the school environment to ensure a safe and secure setting for all.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Education Administration or related field.

  • Valid teaching certification and administrative credentials.

  • Proven experience in educational leadership or as a classroom teacher.

  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional practices, and assessment.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a leadership role within a school setting.

  • Familiarity with data analysis and its application in educational settings.

  • Commitment to equity and inclusion in education.

  • A commitment to doing whatever it takes to ensure the success of Enterprise Charter School

  • Proficiency in working with computers, commonly used software (like Google Documents) and Excel.

Enterprise Charter School offers a competitive salary, health benefits and is a member of the NYS Teacher Retirement System. Position starts at $75,000 higher rate based on experience.
