NY Employer Teacher 2.3.4 (Days) in Binghamton, New York
Teacher 2.3.4 - One opening is available for a 10-month Teacher with work schedule September 1st to June 30th. The successful candidate must be able to assist the students with their educational, social-emotional and as needed, IEP / 504 plan goals while providing a positive, safe classroom environment that is free of distractions and helps students to improve their academic performance through instruction and tutoring. Job Duties/Expectations: Assess students' educational needs and develop individual educational plans as necessary. Provide tutoring and instruction to children and adolescents assigned to your classroom using IEPS, home school records and assignments and your own developed curriculum materials. Participate in relevant treatment plan meetings. Write complete and comprehensive educational assessments and educational progress notes in a timely manner. Assure that educational materials are appropriate and up to date, and purchase materials as necessary. Attend professional development training opportunities to increase maintain New York State certifications and to increase knowledge of age-specific population. Complete annual mandated training including CPR, First Aid, Youth Empowerment Strategies, and other required training. Assist students with establishing and using positive and healthy coping skills. Minimum Qualifications for this position include: Teacher 2 Open Competitive: current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty. Teacher 3 Open Competitive: current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty. Teacher 4 Open Competitive: current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty AND two years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.
